AI College and Infrastructure: Since its establishment in 2009, NYCU’s AI College in Shalun Science Park has grown to include two colleges and three buildings. The AI College, with 62 faculty members, focuses on cultivating talent in AI theory and practice.
Research and Applications: The AI College’s research spans several key areas, including IoT, healthcare, green energy, agriculture, and drones. Notable achievements include:
- Improving the accuracy of plant disease predictions to over 96%.
- Developing robots for long-term care facilities to reduce nursing workloads.
- Enhancing radiotherapy imaging for better cancer treatment.
- Creating drones capable of detecting armored vehicles from two kilometers away.
Industry Collaboration and Innovation: The AI College has established research and innovation centers with support from companies like NVIDIA and AU Optronics. This collaboration has led to significant advancements, and Tainan City aims to demonstrate these innovations locally.
